NATALIE GAMSU

Natalie is a singer, actor, cabaret artist, and visual artist whose performances have been acclaimed nationally and internationally. Some of her stage credits include; Kiss Of The Spiderwoman (Dean Bryant, Melbourne Theatre Company), Dance Nation (Maude Davey, Red Stitch), Darlinghurst Nights (Lee Lewis, Hayes Theatre Company), Ladies in Black (Simon Phillips, Queensland Theatre Company), Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom, Mary Poppins (Disney/Cameron Macintosh), Barry Kosky’s Women of Troy (Sydney Theatre Company/Malthouse Theatre)and Dr Zhivago (GFO), Candide(Janice Honeyman, Woman With One Buttock).

Natalie also has created a following for her own shows, her latest being Carmen Live or Dead (Butterfly Club, Hayes Theatre & The Adelaide Cabaret Festival). Recent screen credits include Neighbours, Street Smart, and the successful feature film, Ali’s Wedding.

From 1992 until 2003, Natalie lived and worked in New York City, performing at the famous Oak Room, Fez, and The Russian Tea Room. She won the Backstage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist and a MAC Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist in 1997 and 2000. Her debut CD Weave also received a MAC nomination for Best New Recording.

She has recorded two CD’s (Weave and Misfit) and received several major awards for her work as a vocalist and actor.

Natalie has also been teaching vocal studies, master classes in performance and audition technique (NIDA, AIM (Melbourne & Sydney), VCA, Patrick Studios, Associated Studios, and in her private studio). She currently teaches online classes using zoom.

She is also a qualified counselor and has used all these skills to create safe spaces for students to find their unique sound.
